 Spend a day immersed in art and architecture in the National Downtown Historic District of Ottawa, Illinois. You will experience Ottawa’s rich history by viewing at least six beautiful murals, depicting such events as the rst Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Also located in the Washington Square National Historic District, site of the debate, are several beautiful churches. You will get inside tours of the First United Methodist Church, the oldest church in Ottawa, as well as St. Columba Catholic Church, the largest church in Ottawa. After an included lunch at Lock and Dam 16 in LaSalle, you will return to Ottawa to visit the Third District Appellate Courthouse. Located across the street from the Reddick Mansion and completed in 1860, this classic example of Greek Classical Revival architecture served as the Northern Division of the Illinois Supreme Court until 1897. Today it houses the Third District Appellate Court which hears cases from seven counties, including DuPage. Visitors marvel at the beautiful woodwork and soaring ceiling of the courtroom, the law library, and the lodgings for the judges when the court is in session. Cap off the day with a sweet treat—a stop for ice cream or a glass of wine, your choice!

 Enjoy morning pastries before heading to Fort Atkins Fireside Theater in Wisconsin. Upon arrival peruse a variety of great boutique shops and don’t forget to order your homemade bakery that will be ready to take home after the show. Show takes place in 1979, the day of the church’s Centennial Celebration, and past parishioners have gathered to share hotdish, bars, and stories from the last 100 years. As the women work in the kitchen, shared memories burst into life through a series of ashbacks. Travel back to 1897 and meet Vivian’s grandmother; see Karin as a newlywed cautiously navigating the politics of the kitchen; and be there in 1944 when Mavis rst barreled her way through the door. The Centennial Celebration is bittersweet. Times are tough in this small farm community, and hard decisions will have to be made.

BRAISED PORK BELLY-Succulent Duroc Pork Belly scored and seared to perfection. Braised slowly in Soy Sauce, Brown Sugar, and its natural juices until tender. Sliced and served with a Pan Sauce. Served with Fried Rice with Peas, Onion, and Egg, and Honey Glazed Carrots. 

SUPREME CUT CHICKEN BREAST- Seasoned with Lemon Pepper and Seared. Served with Fried Rice with Peas, Onion, and Egg, and Honey Glazed Carrots. 

THAI GRILLED SHRIMP-Fresh Shrimp, Onions, Bell Peppers, and Pineapple placed on bamboo skewers and marinated in Lemongrass, Sweet Chilis, and Garlic. Charred on the grill and served with an Apricot Lemongrass Chutney. Served with Fried Rice with Peas, Onion, and Egg.
